Arsenal transfer target Danilo has admitted that he is ‘ready’ to move to the Premier League, according to reports.

The Lowdown: Negotiations ongoing

The Gunners have made an impressive start to the season and find themselves top of the table, though reports have suggested that the midfield is a transfer priority, with Edu ready to back Mikel Arteta heading into the winter market.

The Palmeiras ace has been identified as a primary target, with the 21-year-old claimed to be in advanced talks over a move to the Emirates, and he may have now hinted at it following a fresh update.

The Latest: Danilo’s comments

Speaking to UOL Esporte (via The Metro), Danilo was asked about the chances of him making the switch to Arsenal or elsewhere in the New Year, to which he responded:

“I see myself mature enough to be able to play in any competition in the world, I’m ready.

“I prefer not to get involved with these transfer issues.

“I told my manager to only talk to me if it’s the right thing. Then, we sit down and talk to Palmeiras and decide what’s best for everyone.”

The Verdict: One for the future

Danilo has been labelled a ‘gifted’ player by Jacek Kulig and he would definitely be one for the future should he put pen to paper in the capital.

The Brazilian has two assists and one goal to his name this season and is averaging 2.1 tackles and 1.1 shots per game (WhoScored).

Danilo also revealed during his interview that he has strong existing connections to both Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus through their international squad, which could give Arsenal the advantage in the race for his signature.
