Arsenal: Fans blast Gabriel Martinelli display - Arsenal News

Some Arsenal fans were left to blast the display of Gabriel Martinelli versus Southampton in their FA Cup away tie at St. Mary’s Stadium.

The Brazil U23 international missed a great chance to give Mikel Arteta’s team the lead in the first half before a Gabriel own goal gave the Saints the advantage instead.

Overall, he did not provide much of an attacking threat and thus was not exempt from criticism from some members of the Emirates Stadium faithful, despite the love they have for their up and coming starlet.

The 19-year-old was given a 6.3 overall rating on Sofascore, one of the lowest out of any player to have set foot on the pitch, as he lost out on three of his duels and failed to make a single successful dribble, key pass, cross or long ball.

How many times have Arsenal won the FA Cup?

He also lost possession no fewer than seven times and even had fewer touches (17) than his own goalkeeper in Bernd Leno upon being substituted off in the 58th minute of the match (Sofascore).
