Arsenal fans have been left fuming over the appointment of David Coote as referee for their trip to Fulham in the Premier League.

The Lowdown: Coote appointed

The Premier League confirmed on their official website that Coote has been appointed as referee for Arsenal's trip to Fulham.

The last Arsenal game he refereed, they lost 1-0 away at Everton, sparking fears from supporters that the same could happen again.

The Latest: Arsenal fans fume

Taking to Twitter after the news was shared, these Gunners supporters were left fuming over the appointment:

"NOOOOOOOO" - @Goonerr92

"Extremely worrisome" - @AnuchitJullanan

"He's useless. God help us." - @aguyintheroom

"I won’t be watching this game then, thanks." - @doc11886

"Worst ref in the EPL" - @drdamilare9

"I don’t trust these refs. Sabotage" - @Az00001997

The Verdict: Concentrate on the football

As much as supporters may bemoan the appointment of Coote as referee, the team itself just need to concentrate on what they can produce on the pitch.

They were shaky at times in their 2-2 draw away at Sporting in the UEFA Europa League last time out, and will not want a repeat performance of that.

Nonetheless, hopefully some decisions from Coote go their way too, as they look to increase the gap to Manchester City again in the title race.
