Arsenal: Fans praise Matteo Guendouzi’s performance against Brighton

Arsenal may have gone down to defeat away to Brighton this afternoon but plenty of Gunners fans were pleased with the performance of Matteo Guendouzi at the Amex Stadium.
The French midfielder was unable to prevent his team from slipping to a second loss in four days but there were plenty of positives for him to take from Arsenal’s latest setback. The 21-year-old completed 39 of his 42 passes, giving him a 93% accuracy rate, while he also made two interceptions, two clearances and one block, along with winning four duels in total (as per SofaScore).
Several reporters also praised Guendouzi’s contribution to the Gunners’ cause this afternoon. The Mirror‘s Sam Meade wrote that he “did his job well in the middle of the park”, while Daily Express writer Uche Amako said that the youngster “produced a disciplined display as he tried to dictate the tempo”. The Frenchman was also involved in a tussle with some Brighton players at the full-time whistle, with tempers flaring following Neal Maupay’s clash with Bernd Leno in the first half.
These Arsenal fans on Twitter lauded Guendouzi’s display against the Seagulls:

Guendouzi has got a lot of passion for the club. You can tell he plays for the badge. He’s still young so I’m gonna be patient with him.

Well at least Guendouzi will come to fight, no one else will.

Guendouzi is the only player in our club with pure fight in him.
He will step up to anyone. I want him in the club for life.
