Mesut Ozil continues to be a person heavily reported about, as he continues to not be used by manager Mikel Arteta since football has returned.
He was omitted from the whole match day squad due to ‘tactical reasons’ in some games, and in others he would be an unused substitute. However a few weeks back Arteta told the media that the World Cup winner picked up an injury and so he has missed the last few games due to this.
Should Ozil leave the club?
The next match day squad that the manager picks will be very interesting as it looks like Ozil has sent a message to supporters and Arteta that he is ready to play on Instagram.
Clearly he wants to be involved in the Gunners next fixture against Premier League champions Liverpool and despite him not being used as of late there is definitely room for the player to be involved even if it is from the bench.
He plays on average 2.1 key passes a game this season in the division, per WhoScored, which is the best out of the whole Arsenal squad, and this creative eye is maybe what the club have been needing in games in which they are behind. This is highlighted by the fact that in the Premier League since the restart, the Gunners have failed to get back into the game after they have been a goal behind, per Sky Sports.
The saga continues and if he is not involved against Liverpool, then it would appear that Arteta does not believe he is good enough to succeed at the club.
