Arsenal need to get a win against Southampton as they have lost their first two games since football has returned and now sit eleventh in the Premier League.
Mesut Ozil hasn’t featured since the division has resumed, and was not even on the bench against Manchester City, however his latest Instagram post might hint about his future plans.
Mikel Arteta’s reasons behind not playing Ozil have been purely tactical, but some might have wanted him to come on when the Gunners were drawing with Brighton the other day. His 2.1 key passes per game is the most in the Arsenal squad and his creative influence could have been exactly what was needed to open up a defence which would have been fairly happy with a draw.
His omission has left many wondering if he will want to stay at the club, but his latest post on Instagram highlights that he looks to still be pleased in north London as he showed a picture of himself in training and it was supported with the caption, ‘Important to stay positive in this situation 👊🏼⚽ Let’s try everything together to get back on winning ways tomorrow.’
This should be a positive update for Arsenal supporters as despite everything he still looks to be heavily keen on the club, meaning he may not be looking to leave in the upcoming transfer window.
With the two recent losses, Arteta might look to change things up and Ozil will be hoping he can show the Spaniard that he can still have a positive impact on the team at St. Mary’s.
