Arsenal are battling with two Premier League rivals for the signing of Chelsea and USA star Christian Pulisic, according to a fresh transfer update.

The Lowdown: Pulisic struggling for minutes at Chelsea

The winger is representing the USA at the 2022 World Cup at the moment and has impressed, registering an assist against Wales and winning the Player of the Match award against England, but while he is an undisputed key player for his country, the situation is different at club level.

Pulisic has struggled to be a regular starter for Chelsea under both Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter, with 10 of his 13 league appearances this season coming as a substitute.

The 24-year-old is out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of next season and it could be that he leaves well before then.

The Latest: Arsenal keen on signing

According to The Daily Mail, Arsenal are interested in acquiring Pulisic's signature, as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his side's title challenge.

The Gunners aren't alone in tracking the American, however, with Manchester United and Newcastle United also seeing him as a potential signing.

The Verdict: Perfect for squad depth

Pulisic arguably hasn't quite reached his potential as a player to date but he is young and could benefit from a move to Arsenal, providing them with more attacking options in the process.

A total of 47 goal contributions (26 goals and 21 assists) in 133 Chelsea appearances is still a solid return, while USA manager Gregg Berhalter has described him as a 'special' player.

Pulisic could come in and provide stiff competition for the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, and potentially go up a gear as he hits his prime years at the Emirates.
