ESPN journalist James Olley has revealed that three clubs are 'interested' in signing Arsenal outcast Cedric Soares in the January transfer window.

The Lowdown: Out of favour

Cedric has fallen out of favour under Mikel Arteta this season, with just four senior appearances and 119 minutes of football so far across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

Arteta has been favouring natural central defender Ben White at right-back over Cedric this term, which does not bode well for the latter's chances of getting more minutes in the second half of the campaign.

The Latest: January interest

Taking to Twitter, Olley has revealed that Fulham, Bayer Leverkusen and Villarreal are all 'interested' in signing Cedric in January, with Fulham understood to be 'pushing the hardest' for his signature.

The reporter tweeted: "Fulham, Bayer Leverkusen and Villarreal are all interested in signing #afc defender Cedric Soares in January. No formal bid yet but Fulham understood to be pushing the hardest at this stage."

The Verdict: Get rid

Given his lack of game-time, and the fact that he is not getting any younger at 31, Arsenal should be looking to offload Cedric in January if they can.

Along with White, Arteta can also call on Takehiro Tomiyasu at right-back, so Cedric would not be greatly missed should he depart.

He is also on £75,000 per week at the Emirates Stadium, so selling him would free up room on the wage bill and the transfer budget, with the Gunners potentially looking at signing one or two more players to push them through their charge for the Premier League title.
