Arsenal: ‘Big positive’ Gabriel Jesus injury update shared

Arsenal: 'Big positive' Gabriel Jesus injury update shared - Arsenal News

Arsenal reporter for GOAL Charles Watts has shared a ‘big positive’ injury update on Gabriel Jesus.

The Lowdown: In training

Jesus has been pictured back out on the training pitch after a lengthy absence through injury.

He has been ruled out with a knee injury since the break for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, but looks to be taking the right steps in terms of a recovery.

The Latest: Jesus joins warm down

Taking to Twitter on Sunday morning after Arsenal’s dramatic 3-2 win at home to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday, Watts shared that Jesus joined in the post-match warm down with the substitutes, which was ‘pretty intensive’:

“Amid all the chaos yesterday, one big positive was Jesus was out joining in the post match warm down with the subs. It was at the other end from where I was sitting, but it looked pretty intensive. He was doing the same as the subs, including playing in the little game they do.”

The Verdict: Huge boost

It will come as a huge boost to Gunners supporters to see Jesus linking up with his team-mates again, and intensifying his training.

It is the clearest sign so far that the Brazil international is nearing a return to first-team action, with games against Sporting and Fulham in the UEFA Europa League and Premier League respectively coming up this week.

Jesus has been exceptional since signing from Manchester City this summer, ranking as Arsenal’s second-best average performer in the top flight with five goals and five assists before his injury (WhoScored).

With Leandro Trossard coming off injured against Bournemouth, alongside Eddie Nketiah’s ongoing problem, the Gunners could do with having the striker back as soon as possible.
