Transfer expert Dean Jones has shared that Arsenal have a 'slim to no chance' of signing reported target Dusan Vlahovic in this window.

The Lowdown: In the mix

It was reported last week that the Gunners are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Vlahovic in January, along with Chelsea, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.

The striker is thought to be unsettled at Juventus, and the Old Lady would consider offers in the region of €90m (£79m) for his signature.

The Latest: Unlikely...

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones has shared that the North London club have a 'slim to no chance' of signing Vlahovic this window, but could look to sign him in the summer instead:

“I’m still told the chances of getting Vlahovic in this window are slim to no chance.

“But at the end of the season, if Arsenal maintain this kind of form they will be capable of pretty much anything in the transfer market.

“Juventus are very unsettled at the moment and I think there is a very real chance top talent will be available from them in the summer.”

The Verdict: Wait until summer

It may be tempting for Mikel Arteta's side to sign a striker in January given the injury to Gabriel Jesus, but for Vlahovic, they should wait until the summer.

Eddie Nketiah has scored linked with a big-money move for Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Mykhaylo Mudryk.

Lauded as a “beast” by journalist Siavoush Fallahi, Vlahovic has scored 78 senior career goals for club and country combined by the age of just 22.

There is no doubt that he would add real quality to the Emirates Stadium, but given the lofty fee it would take to sign him on top of Mudryk, Arsenal are better off keeping the faith in Nketiah and Jesus when he gets back, and addressing the situation in the summer.
