Arsenal: Transfer target Raheem Sterling not seeking summer exit

The Evening Standard journalist Nizaar Kinsella says that Arsenal transfer target Raheem Sterling is not looking to leave Chelsea this summer.
The Lowdown: Summer target
It was reported earlier this week that Arsenal are monitoring Sterling’s situation at Chelsea ahead of a potential move this summer, with Mikel Arteta keen to bring in players who have European experience under their belt.
The Spaniard is thought to be a huge fan from working with him at Manchester City, especially his ability to play anywhere across the frontline.
The Latest: Not looking to move
Taking to Twitter, Kinsella says that Sterling is not looking to leave Chelsea this summer, and remains committed to the club in the long-term:
“I’ve been told that Raheem Sterling remains committed to Chelsea long-term despite the club’s recent difficulties. He won’t be looking to move in the summer and wants to help deliver future success.”
The Verdict: Shame
It is a shame that the Gunners are seemingly going to miss out on Sterling this summer, given the success that Arteta has already had by taking Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from City, and Sterling would fit in that bracket of having worked with him before.
Lauded as ‘world class‘ by City content creator Steven McInerney, the England international won no fewer than four Premier League titles during his time at the Etihad Stadium, as well as many other domestic trophies.
At the age of 28, Sterling already has nearly 200 goal contributions in the top flight combined for three big clubs in Liverpool, City and Chelsea, although admittedly has not been as prolific at the latter so far this season.
Nonetheless, he would have been another great squad option for the Gunners for next term, especially if they are fighting on four fronts and in the UEFA Champions League.
