Many Arsenal fans have been slamming the performance of Takehiro Tomiyasu as they drew 2-2 against Crystal Palace on Monday night in the Premier League.
After his difficult performance at Brighton and Hove Albion last time out, the Japan international would have liked to have made amends against the Eagles, but again he did not have his best game since arriving at the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.
Should Arsenal start Tomiyasu?
He lost out on 12 of his duels in total, the second-most of any player on the pitch, and also failed to put in an accurate cross from right-back, while losing possession of the ball on 19 different occasions, the second-most out of his teammates (Sofascore).
Nonetheless, after a bright start to his Arsenal career, Tomiyasu will want to get back on track against Aston Villa on Friday.
Arsenal fans on Tomiyasu’s display
These Arsenal fans slammed his performance on Twitter, with one Gooner even going as far as to claim that the 22-year-old was ‘dreadful’:
“Tomiyasu had a poor game”
“Tomiyasu played total rubbish”
“I’m sorry but how dreadful were Tomiyasu and White today. Completely outclassed, especially Tomi. Absolutely no composure whatsoever”
“Haha fans gassed Tomiyasu after 1 average performance, guy is horrendous on the ball”
“Never start Tomiyasu again, we literally have Cedric on the bench”
“Tomiyasu was literally all over the place..”
