Arsenal fans are bemoaning the news that Thomas Partey has been called up for Ghana for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola.

The Lowdown: Injury problems

Unfortunately for Partey, he has had a history of injury problems since arriving at the Emirates Stadium from Atletico Madrid.

He is a key player for Ghana, having made 43 senior caps in total for his country, including in the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Latest: Arsenal fans react

Taking to Twitter after it was shared that Partey had been called up by Ghana for the international break, these Arsenal supporters naturally feared the worst:

"Here we go again! He better be hobbling off "injured" in the 88th minute against Crystal Palace." - @a_oluwadunsin

"I have bad feelings" - @OdeOman

"Oh dear" - @TorukMakt0_

"My anxiety" - @AbishekJ95

"We are finished" - @AFC_Eshanie_CZK

"That's bad news bro" - @afcgrid

The Verdict: Keep him if possible

The Gunners need to make sure that they can keep Partey at London Colney during the international break if possible, at the risk of him picking up another injury.

The defensive midfielder has proven to be such an important player in their Premier League title charge, scoring three goals and averaging more tackles, interceptions and long balls per game than any of his team-mates (WhoScored).

Nonetheless, losing him to another injury would be a monumental blow.
