Atletico Madrid manager has finally given some details surrounding midfielder Thomas Partey, who has been linked to Arsenal for many months, but it might not be the best update for Gunners fans to hear.
Simeone, though, has claimed that the 27-year-old has numerous suitors, saying via Football.London: “When he’s at his best level consistently, he’s so good that all the best teams in Europe are looking at him.”
Partey is a player who is crucial to a team that has been praised by many for its world class defensive set-up as he manages two successful tackles and 1.4 interceptions per game, whilst also averaging 1.9 successful dribbles a game, per WhoScored.
This latest news by Simeone should not really change Arsenal’s mindset and they would probably have known other clubs would want such a player.
If the Gunners are happy to triple his wages as well, this highlights how much they want the player and they should continue to try to get him in the summer transfer window. It should be a priority signing and, if Arsenal truly want the player, then they should seek to blow away the competition in the summer transfer window.
