Lots of Arsenal fans are buzzing at the latest claim from journalist Roberto Carlos (via LTArsenal) that the north London club have apparently agreed personal terms with Atletico Madrid central midfield player Thomas Partey and that the two teams are now in negotiations with each other over a possible deal that can be struck in the summer transfer window.
Will Arsenal sign Partey?
Indeed, this could prove to be a rather major coup from the Gunners if they can get the transfer over the line, given what the 26-year old could possibly offer in terms of his ability in the middle of the park.
Partey has won 6.6 duels on average so far in La Liga in the current season, whilst he also averaged 2.1 tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 1.2 clearances per league game, according to Sofascore.
Based off of these figures, the Ghana international may be able to win the ball back relatively quickly for his potential new side and then distribute to his other teammates accordingly, which could set Arsenal off on the attack.
These Gunners supporters were buzzing upon reading the claim on Twitter, given what Partey could offer the Emirates outfit, with one fan suggesting that Mikel Arteta could turn him into a modern incarnation of legendary ex-Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira:
