It looks like one of the newly promoted sides are looking to sign an Arsenal player to help improve their squad for the upcoming season.
According to The Sun, Fulham would like to acquire Gunners defender Calum Chambers, who has played for them in the past.
Arsenal have set a £12 million price-tag on the Englishman, and it looks like as it stands the Cottagers are still interested despite this valuation.
It has been a difficult spell for Chambers in North London as of late, despite the fact that he has made 101 appearances for the club, per Transfermarkt.
The defender, who can play at right-back or centre-back, suffered a Cruciate Ligament Rupture, and missed 18 games last season, so only featured 14 times in the division in 2019/20. His last appearance in the Premier League for the Gunners was on the 29th December 2019, per Transfermarkt.
The 25 year-old has also been loaned out twice whilst at the Gunners, once to Middlesbrough in 2016, and the other time was to Fulham, where he had a great campaign in the Premier League despite their relegation at the time as he was voted the club’s Player of the Year.
Due to injuries, his lack of game time has seen him fall down the pecking order, and if Arsenal can get around £12 million for the player, especially with their current financial struggles, then it would be ideal, so then Mikel Arteta can use the funds on players that he wants in the starting eleven.
