Arsenal: Gunners linked with audacious move for Antoine Griezmann - Arsenal Transfer Rumours

Arsenal want to bolster their attacking options and, with the fear of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette possibly leaving, they appear to be keeping tabs on marquee signings. Antoine Griezmann is the latest to be linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

According to the Daily Express, the French forward’s time at Barcelona looks to be over already, as he has failed to live up to expectations.

As per the report, this could mean that a club like Arsenal or Inter Milan could secure his signature when the transfer window reopens.

Similar to Aubameyang, the World Cup winner with France can play at centre-forward and on the wing, and his statistics emphasise that he is a natural born finisher as he has managed 199 goals and 72 assists in 502 appearances, per Transfermarkt.

This rumour seems to have come out of nowhere but, if there is any truth to it, then the Gunners are definitely looking in the right place for an attacker. Transfermarkt value him at £86.4m and it is easy to see why due to his goal tally, so Barcelona are not likely to let him go for a cheap fee.

Even if Griezmann hasn’t set the world alight at Camp Nou, his goal record over the course of his career speaks for itself in highlighting how potent an attacker he can be.

At 29, he is only a year older than Aubameyang was when he signed for Arsenal, and his potential addition should give the Gunners a top-class forward option for a couple of campaigns at least. Depending on the fee, this could be a great signing for the club if either of their marquee strikers were to leave.
