There has been a fresh update on a reported transfer target of Arsenal, with reports that now might be the best chance for the Gunners to sign Luka Jovic if they still want him.
According to Marca (via Daily Star), La Liga giants Real Madrid are willing to listen to offers for the Serbian forward despite him signing a six-year deal only last summer when joining from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Serbian’s move to Real Madrid has been a disappointment so far as the £54m signing has only scored two goals in the La Liga this season. He has found it hard to convince Zinedine Zidane as he has only started four times in the division this term , whilst making 12 other appearances from the bench, per WhoScored.
However, he is still only 22 and clearly his time at Eintracht Frankfurt highlighted the potential in him that persuaded Real Madrid to sihn him for a lot of money. Perhaps the move to such a team with huge expectations came too early for Jovic as he proved how good a goalscorer he was at the Bundesliga side, scoring 36 goals in 75 appearances, per Transfermarkt.
With various reports suggesting that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette could be on their way out of the Emirates Stadium in the summer, it is no shock to see the Gunners hunting for potential replacements and perhaps Jovic would be an ideal coup if the current two Arsenal forwards leave.
Would Luka Jovic be a good signing?
Should he come to Arsenal, Jovic could try and regain his confidence which could hopefully rekindle his form and, if they can get the best out of him as Eintracht Frankfurt did, the Gunners could end up making a very astute purchase for a striker with most of his career still to come.
