It looked like there would be some departures at Arsenal, as various players have been linked with moves away amid a lot of interest, but the latest news suggests plans have changed at the club.
According to The Express, Mikel Arteta has made his mind up on Alexandre Lacazette, Rob Holding and Emiliano Martinez and he wants them stay at the club as it currently stands.
The Gunners are expecting Lacazette to stay, and are hopeful that Martinez will want to remain at the Emirates. Holding is expected to stay as well and it looks like this is due to a possible injury to David Luiz.
With Lacazette linked to Juventus and Atletico Madrid as he might not be guaranteed starting football next season, whilst Aston Villa have made a bid for Martinez and Newcastle United were close to a loan move to Holding, it looked like there could have been a bit of a reshuffle at the club.
However this latest report would indicate that there has been a change in plans for Arteta at the club, and it is a very sensible move for the Gunners to keep hold of the trio.
Meanwhile there is no doubting how prolific Lacazette is upfront as he has managed 48 goals in 127 appearances, per Transfermarkt, and he is a great player to either have in the starting eleven or come on if needed.
To have such good squad depth is a good sign, and with the North London side playing in the Europa League in the new season as well as two domestic cups and the Premier League, such depth is needed and so if the three stay it will be some good business.
