Arsenal have an abundance of quality in their youth academy, and this has been highlighted by the fact that players like Bukayo Saka, Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah have emerged from the U23's to become key members of the senior squad.

It looks like Arteta still has youth in mind as he is sending players out on loan to the EFL like Zech Medley and the club recently announced another player has followed in the footsteps of his teammate.

Arsenal posted on their website that defensive midfielder Ben Sheaf has joined newly promoted Championship side Coventry City on loan for the 2020/21 season.

In a statement, the club said: "We wish Ben the best of luck for his time with Coventry City and we look forward to seeing his continued development."

The 22 year-old has only made two senior appearances for the Gunners, per Transfermarkt, but has made competitive appearances for Doncaster, Stevenage and the youth sides throughout his career.

In total, he has made 121 appearances, per Transfermarkt, scoring seven and assisting six, and a loan move to the Championship is one that benefits all parties.

It will be the toughest division he has made consistent appearances in, and with the physicality and competitiveness of the league, the player will get a really good experience that will help his growth. This is why it also benefits Arsenal, as they can see how he copes in the division and whether he can come back the season after and excel at the Gunners.

He is still very young, and the fact that he is being loaned out and not sold highlights that the North London side still believe that he can succeed at the Emirates.
