Dani Ceballos had a good loan spell at Arsenal last season, so much so that manager Mikel Arteta would like to bring him back to the club for the upcoming campaign. However both the Gunners and Real Madrid are failing to agree on some terms which is causing negotiations to hit a stumbling block.
The North London side are trying to negotiate a loan deal for the Spanish midfielder, but it seems like there are two reasons as to why such a deal is struggling to be agreed.
Arsenal also had to pay around £3.6million to acquire the Spaniard on loan last season and they are refusing to pay another loan fee.
The quality that Ceballos possesses was there for all to see whilst he was at the Premier League side last season as he averaged 1.9 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per game, via WhoScored, as well as averaging 1.2 key passes and 1.1 successful dribbles a match.
To have someone in the middle of the pitch who likes to get stuck in and provide support for the back line, whilst also offering an outlet in attack is something all teams would love to have, and it is understandable that the Gunners are keen to bring him back, even if it is only on a temporary deal.
Of course the club, especially in their current situation, do not want to over pay for new signings in this transfer window. This is only the first offer that the Gunners have put on the table, so they don’t want to put all their eggs into one basket straight away. Therefore the terms that the two sides are disagreeing on can easily be resolved as they have until the transfer window ends on October 5th to agree a deal.
If Arteta desperately wants Ceballos to return, then the Gunners will come in with another offer, and hopefully for all parties, a deal is made.
