It looks like Arsenal are reigniting their interest in a forward whom they have been targeting for many months, as they look for potential attacking additions this summer.
Football.London reported that Arsenal have been keeping tabs on Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard for a while and might look to put in an offer in the upcoming transfer window.
They see him as a possible replacement for either Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette and, after acquiring Kieran Tierney from the Hoops, it looks like they could go back to the Scottish club with an offer for Edouard.
The Celtic forward has had a terrific spell in Scotland and, at the age of just 22, he has scored 60 goals in 126 appearances, per Transfermarkt. His goals were a huge part of their latest Premiership success this season, as he managed 21 goals in the Scottish Premiership over 2,110 minutes of game-time, averaging a goal every 100.48 minutes.
At such a young age, Edouard’s eye for goal already looks razor-sharp and Arsenal need to be looking at younger forwards not just because Aubameyang and Lacazette have been linked with leaving the club, but also because the two strikers are 31 and 29 respectively, so Mikel Arteta needs to be thinking about the longer-term future of the club’s attack.
It will be interesting to see whether they can land his signature but, given his fantastic goalscoring record at Celtic, this should definitely be a deal that the Gunners should consider.
