Sead Kolasinac struggled at times for Arsenal last season and recent reports seem to suggest that the defender could leave the club in the transfer window.
According to Sky Germany, Kolasinac is not happy at the Emirates Stadium and this has alerted other clubs in Europe, including his former employers Schalke 04.
The Bundesliga side are looking to see if the Gunners will allow the left-back to return to Gelsenkirchen on loan in a deal which would see both sides split payment of his wages 50-50.
The 27-year-old has made 104 appearances for Arsenal, scoring five goals and supplying 15 assists, per Transfermarkt. However, with the emergence of Kieran Tierney since he signed from Celtic last summer, Kolasinac has often had to settle for a place on the bench or been forced to play at centre-back, which has not always worked out as he has made errors which have cost the team valuable points.
Kolasinac offers good squad depth for Mikel Arteta and this has been proven by some of his stats last season as he averaged 1.3 tackles and 1.3 clearances per game, via WhoScored.
However, if the Bosnian is reportedly unhappy, then it may be in everyone’s best interests for him to have a spell away on loan to get back to his best before ideally returning to Arsenal with renewed vigour.
