Mikel Arteta is seemingly looking to bolster his attacking options at Arsenal in the upcoming transfer window and he appears to have taken a liking to Premier League winger Allan Saint-Maximin.
According to Le10 Sport, Arsenal are very keen on signing Newcastle United’s 23-year-old French attacker, who joined the Magpies from Ligue 1 side Lille last summer.
Serie A side Napoli are showing a strong interest, too, but a host of European clubs are also keeping tabs on the player.
Even though he has only managed three goals and four assists, per WhoScored, Saint-Maximin has set the Premier League alight in his debut campaign. He has managed on average 1.8 shots per game, 1.3 key passes a game and completed 4.6 successful dribbles per game.
This attacking intent and the confidence to constantly take on defences has seen many struggle to defend against him and is very similar to Gunners star Nicolas Pepe who manages 2.4 successful dribbles a game, per WhoScored.
This could see Arteta utilise Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in his more favoured position up front and have Pepe and Saint-Maximin on the wings, which should be a really entertaining attacking trio and also represent a big fear for opposition teams.
