Hector Bellerin has filled the right-back role at Arsenal when fit for many seasons, but recent reports suggest that French champions Paris-Saint Germain along with some of European’s biggest clubs are interested in the defender.
According to the Daily Express, PSG are keeping tabs on Gunners right-back Bellerin, who could be forced out of the Emirates Stadium this summer due to the recent emergence of Cedric Soares, scorer of Arsenal’s fourth goal against Norwich last week.
Juventus and Bayern Munich are also interested but with PSG losing full-back Thomas Meunier to Inter Milan, they seem to be favourites as it stands, as per Daily Express.
Although Bellerin has recently lost his place in the team to Cedric, it would be silly to sell him right now. Even though Cedric is finally fit to play for the club, they still need depth in that position and to have the two available at the club should give Mikel Arteta a pleasant selection dilemma.
The fact that some of the biggest clubs in Europe are interested in the 25-year-old highlights the quality he still has and this should be a sign for the Gunners that they should not sell him.
He is still young and yet has plenty of experience for Arsenal, with exactly 200 appearances to his name for the club, and Arteta could need players like Bellerin to act as a role model to his younger team-mates as the Gunners seek to get back among the Champions League chasers in the near future.
Arsenal fans, would you be happy if Hector Bellerin left or should the club seek to hold on to him? Comment below with your views!
