**Every so often in the Transfer Tavern, the bar-stool-experts filling our halls will be rocked when reading a certain rumour or report.**

Even the most ardent of seasoned transfer window veterans have been shocked by this one.

According to Italian journalist [Emanuele Giulianelli](https://twitter.com/EmaGiulianelli/status/747433605853491201?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw), Arsenal have enquired about Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli.

While the proverbial silly season likes to throw up the odd bizarre story, both sets of supporters have joined each other in a strange sense of unity.

Well, in laughing at how many TT pints Giulianelli must have had prior to tweeting that at least.

The England international was a star at White Hart Lane last season, after making a meteoric rise from League One with MK Dons.

Any move for the 20-year old is likely to exceed the controversy created by Sol Campbell during his infamous switch across North London in 2001, such is the magnitude of this potential switch.
