# Arsenal in pole position to secure January deal for £9.8m attacker

The 27-year-old has caught the eye with his Serie A performances so far this term and would prove to be a valuable addition for Arsene Wenger’s squad, as his versatility would hand a major boost to Arsenal’s Premier League title chances.

However, [*CalcioMercato* suggests that Serie A leaders Inter Milan will rival the Gunners to take advantage of Genoa’s financial difficulties and secure a deal for Perotti.](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/milan-e-inter-l-arsenal-vi-soffia-perotti-798135)

Roberto Mancini’s side are currently locked in a fierce battle with Napoli for the Serie A crown, with defending champions Juventus faltering, and the addition of Perotti would hand a major boost to their title chances.

The same can be said for Arsenal though, who need to improve their squad depth after the latest injury problems that plagued the club- with the wing areas being a cause for concern currently.
