**Arsenal have had [numerous injuries](https://www.premierinjuries.com/injury-table.php) since football has returned but it looks like their supporters might have some positive news on defender Cedric Soares.**

The right-back [joined on loan](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51326032) in the January transfer window and has recently [signed on a free transfer](https://www.arsenal.com/news/four-players-extend-stay-club) from fellow Premier League side Southampton. However, he has yet to play a match for the Gunners due to his injury struggles, per [Transfermarkt.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/cedric-soares/profil/spieler/112988)

Arsenal have [posted](https://www.arsenal.com/news/team-news-torreira-ozil-cedric-and-more) some team news in the build-up to this evening’s Premier League fixture against Norwich, which declared that Cedric is back in full training and available for selection following a facial injury.

Although he may not replace Hector Bellerin in the starting lineup, the Portuguese international is a great option to have from the bench, and it would be a perfect time to get him some match fitness as we prepare for the final seven games of the season. This would mean that he could have a decent run of games behind his belt to be a useful asset for next season.

The experienced defender has made [138 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/cedric-soares/profil/spieler/112988) in the Premier League and therefore provides manager Mikel Arteta with some much-needed experienced squad depth. Arsenal may still be [beset by injury problems](https://www.premierinjuries.com/injury-table.php) but at least the update on Cedric provides a lift.
