**There is a interesting development surrounding the future of Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette as one side in Europe are keen on the player.**

According to [The Athletic’s](https://theathletic.com/podcast/144-the-ornstein-and-chapman-podcast/?episode=117) David Ornstein, via [The Metro](https://metro.co.uk/2020/08/11/arsenal-open-selling-alexandre-lacazette-juventus-player-swap-deal-13114541/?ito=newsnow-feed), Serie A side Juventus have been monitoring the Frenchman and are keen on making a move for the forward.

Arsenal value him at around £30 million, but would also be open to a deal which involved money and a player swap. Juventus are tempted to use either Douglas Costa or Cristian Romero in the deal.

The French striker has had another good season for Arsenal, scoring 12 goals and picking up four assists in 39 appearances in all competitions, per [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/73078/Show/Alexandre-Lacazette), whilst managing on average 1.8 shots per game.

He still has two years on his contract, so Arsenal will not be forced into a sale this summer, but he has proved a very valuable asset for the side as he has picked up 48 goals and 25 assists in his 127 appearances, per [Transfermarkt.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexandre-lacazette/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/93720)

Clearly his goals have been crucial, and alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who scored [29](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pierre-emerick-aubameyang/leistungsdaten/spieler/58864) goals this season, the Gunners cause a lot of problems for opposition defences.

If Arsenal were going to entertain a deal, Romero could be an ideal defender to bring in. They are light at the back as defenders Pablo Mari and Calum Chambers are [injured](https://www.arsenal.com/news/team-news), as well as [Shkodran Mustafi](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/arsenal-must-sign-centre-back-after-nasty-mustafi-injury/l38ws3ec47cb1fh875uvn7u8i), and Romero, who is only 22 has managed 1.7 tackles, 2.5 interceptions and 3.7 clearances a game whilst on loan at Serie A side Genoa, per [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/323663/Show/Cristian-Romero). These stats highlight that he loves to get stuck in and is good at dealing with opposition attacks.

Meanwhile Douglas Costa does not seem like a good option for the Gunners. They already have an abundance of talent who can play on the wing which [includes](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/13/Show/England-Arsenal) Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe, Bukayo Saka, Ainsley Maitland Niles, Reiss Nelson, and Gabriel Martinelli whilst Mikel Arteta is reportedly close to [signing](https://metro.co.uk/2020/08/11/willian-passes-arsenal-medical-suffering-injury-chelsea-13116728/) Chelsea winger Willian as well.

If Arteta wanted to sell Lacazette then getting Romero in a player-plus-cash deal would probably be a good transfer, however the threat Lacazette provides up front is crucial to the club and it would probably be best to keep him.
