# Arsenal line up transfer reunion for as little as £3m

![vela.jpg](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/vela-500x304.jpg)Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are trying to work out why Arsene Wenger wants to bring back one of their former youngsters.

[Metro](https://metro.co.uk/2014/05/14/arsenal-agree-3million-transfer-to-re-sign-carlos-vela-4727725/) claim that Mexican forward Carlos Vela is reportedly close to re-joining the North London club this summer for a cut price fee.

Vela is currently at La Liga side Real Sociedad after the Spanish outfit turned his loan deal into a permanent signing following a successful period at the Anoeta.

That looked as if it could be the end for Vela’s Arsenal dream but reports have surfaced suggesting that Wenger stuck a more than reasonable buy-back clause into the sale deeds.

The fee is believed to be between £3 million and £4 million and with 20 goals and 13 assists in La Liga this season, it is no surprise that Wenger is keen on a potential reunion.

It is believed that Arsenal scouts will be sent to monitor the youngsters’ work this off-season before they decide whether to thrust him back into the Gunners’ first-team plans.

Arsenal want the pacy attacker to supplement the attacking threats of Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil next season and it’s believed that Vela is keen on a return to North London.

### **Arsenal fans. A £3 million bid for a player that has scored 20 La Liga goals this season seems a right bargain. Do you agree? Let us know your thoughts below.**
