# Arsenal: Lucas Torreira looks to be on his way out of the club

**Arsenal are looking to sell some players, and it looks like they are doing this so that they can add more additions to their squad like [Thomas Partey or Houssem Aouar.](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1335024/Arsenal-transfer-news-Thomas-Partey-Houssem-Aouar-Matteo-Guendouzi)**

One player heavily linked with a move away is Lucas Torreira, and it looks like his departure could happen sooner rather than later.

According to [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/torino-torreira-e-piu-vicino-il-centrocampista-lo-paga-izzo-92475) Arsenal and Serie A club Torino have recently reached an agreement over a fee for which the midfielder can leave the club.

The reported fee is around €24 million (£22.1m) and all that is left for the two sides to sort out is the minor details.

The Uruguayan played [39 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-torreira/leistungsdaten/spieler/318077) for Arsenal last season across all competitions, with [two goals and one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-torreira/leistungsdaten/spieler/318077) to his name. Torreira has been good at breaking up play in the Premier League as he has averaged 1.1 successful tackles and 1.2 interceptions per game, via [WhoScored.](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/248109/Show/Lucas-Torreira)

Whilst he made plenty of appearances, the last time he managed a full 90 minutes in the Premier League was back in January, per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-torreira/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/318077/verein/11), and this suggests that he is perceived more as a squad player than as a first team mainstay under Mikel Arteta.

He adds squad depth and featured regularly last season, but if the north London side can get a large transfer fee for the [£27m-valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-torreira/leistungsdaten/spieler/318077) midfielder, then it would definitely benefit the club, especially when Mikel Arteta has stressed about the current financial struggles the club [has.](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53425833)
