# Arsenal & Manchester United to tussle over ex-Premier League star?

![Alex Song](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Alex-Song--500x375.jpeg)The Football Transfer Tavern has just heard interesting news about a possible summer return for a former Premier League star.

[Sky Sports](https://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11670/9208059/transfer-news-barcelona-midfielder-alex-song-open-to-premier-league-return) report that Barcelona’s Alex Song could return to the Premier League, amid interest from Manchester United in the former Arsenal man.

The 26-year-old could depart the Camp Nou in the summer after falling out of favour with Gerardo Martino.

It seems likely that his destination could be England after he said: “If I leave Barcelona it will be to return to the Premier League.

“I will return to England one day, that’s for sure.”

However Song has also been craving a return to the Emirates Stadium, and he has even sung the praises of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

“He was like a father to me,” said Song of the Gunners chief.

Whether the French boss wants to bring Song back to the Premier League remains to be seen but a Premier League looks to be on the cards with David Moyes thought to lead the chase.
