# Arsenal meet with agent ahead of surprise switch?

[![Mario Balotelli](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Mario-Balotelli.jpg)](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Mario-Balotelli.jpg)[Metro](https://metro.co.uk/2014/02/12/arsene-wenger-met-with-mario-balotellis-agent-to-discuss-arsenal-transfer-4302079/) have a claim that most of our fans are looking at rather interestedly here in the Football Transfer Tavern.

They note that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has moved a step closer to bringing a former Premier League star back to England.

It is not just any other ex-Premier League player either; it is one of the most controversial players in the world, and someone who certainly rubbed a few fans up the wrong way the first time he played in England’s top flight.

The player we are talking about is AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli, who became a cult figure during his time at Manchester City.

As one of our punters moves towards our landlord to ask just how this is happening, he tells us over a pint that it seems Arsenal have met with Balotelli’s agent regarding a potential summer move.

We think that this could be a real possibility, with AC Milan struggling massively and the fact that Balotelli was pictured crying on the bench after suffering alleged racial abuse in a recent fixture.

Wenger is in dire need of a forward. Could Balotelli complete a surprise switch to the Emirates Stadium?

### Punters in the tavern still reckon this swoop is unlikely. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts below.
