# Arsenal: Mykhaylo Mudryk open to joining

**[Arsenal](https://www.footballfancast.com/arsenal-fc-news) transfer target Mykhaylo Mudryk has suggested that he wouldn’t be able to say ‘no’ to the Gunners in an interview with [Ben Jacobs](https://twitter.com/CBSSportsGolazo/status/1567914590565974020).**

### The lowdown

[Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1564916808200736770) reported during the January transfer window that the Premier League club are following the Ukrainian with a view to a potential move. They made contact with the player’s camp but have yet to hold formal discussions with his club Shakhtar Donetsk.

A 21-year-old left winger, Mudryk could compete with Gabriel Martinelli for game-time if he moves to north London.

### The latest

Mudryk admits that he ‘dreams’ about playing in the English top flight and says the opportunity to work with Mikel Arteta at a team of Arsenal’s level would be too good to turn down.

He told the [CBS Sports journalist](https://twitter.com/CBSSportsGolazo/status/1567914590565974020): “I think every guy dreams about the Premier League.

“Yes yes, it’s hard to say but Arsenal is a very good team. Very good coach, I like the way they play. From my side I can’t say no \[to Arsenal\].”

### The verdict

Arsenal fans should be excited by these comments, as Mudryk is a very intriguing talent. He demonstrated that on Tuesday night in Shakhtar’s Champions League Group F opener against RB Leipzig, [scoring one goal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mykhaylo-mudryk/leistungsdaten/spieler/537860) and [setting up two more](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mykhaylo-mudryk/leistungsdaten/spieler/537860) in a 4-1 win.

Football presenter and pundit [Jack Collins](https://twitter.com/jackjcollins/status/1567266235498340354) called him ‘absolutely unreal’ in light of that display, and looked beyond his goal contributions, [saying](https://twitter.com/jackjcollins/status/1567266235498340354): “His explosiveness in small bursts is almost undefendable and his ability to keep the ball tethered to his foot, even at full speed, is Bernardo-esque. He’s going to be a star.”

If the 21-year-old is able to build on that display in Germany, then it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise to see Edu come knocking in the January transfer window.
