# Arsenal on alert as Dortmund prepare for £42m sale

![Aubameyang](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Aubameyang-500x341.jpg)Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting giddy with excitement after their side was handed a huge boost in the quest for one of Europe’s deadliest finishers.

[German publication *Bild* says Borussia Dortmund are happy to sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should they receive offers over £42m](https://sportbild.bild.de/bundesliga/vereine/bundesliga/bvb-aubameyang-schmerzgrenze-bei-60-mio-43439262.sport.html).

The news is a major development for Arsenal, who remain in the market for a world-class forward and were [heavily linked to the signature of the Gabon international over the summer.](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/11804807/Arsenal-transfer-news-and-rumours-Gunners-to-sign-Pierre-Emerick-Aubameyang-if-Karim-Benzema-bid-fails.html)

Now Arsenal seem to have a genuine chance of signing the highly-rated striker, who has an impeccable record in the Bundesliga this season with 14 goals in the opening 12 matches of the campaign.

One potential problem for Arsenal is a pact that Aubameyang has with a team-mate, as it’s suggested [he will not leave Dortmund as long as Marco Reus remains at the club.](https://sportbild.bild.de/bundesliga/vereine/bundesliga/bvb-aubameyang-schmerzgrenze-bei-60-mio-43439262.sport.html)

However, Reus himself is also linked to an exit from the club in 2016 and [Liverpool were reported as favourites for the German international’s signature earlier this month.](https://metro.co.uk/2015/11/09/liverpool-made-the-favourites-to-seal-the-january-transfer-of-borussia-dortmunds-marco-reus-5489964/)

Given his sensational record, our fans believe that Aubameyang would be a stellar acquisition for Arsenal and would be one to push them towards the Premier League title.
