# Arsenal set to complete deal for exciting Liverpool winger on a free transfer?

[![AFC Bournemouth v Liverpool - Capital One Cup Quarter Final](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/4534771-500x316.jpg)](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/4534771.jpg?admin)There are some seriously worried faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as [Metro](https://metro.co.uk/2015/05/03/arsenal-could-sign-50million-rated-liverpool-star-raheem-sterling-on-a-free-transfer-5177913/)seem to think that Raheem Sterling could make a move to Arsenal – on a free.

Now as one of our punters notes over a beer and burger by the bar, Liverpool are in a tricky situation with the winger who is refusing to pen a new contract, and should he decide to run down his deal, the Reds would have to make a choice between selling him and cashing in, and losing him to a rival on a free.

Neither are options we really think Brendan Rodgers would be too keen on but there is no denying that if Arsenal did land a £50 million player on a free, the football world would probably explode!

### Liverpool fans. Do you think that Sterling will leave on a free? If that looks like being the case would you be happy to sell the player and cash in rather than risk that? Let us know your thoughts below.
