# Arsenal set to offer £6m for Dutchman

![krul.jpg](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/hi-res-150170524_crop_650x440.jpg)One of the Football Transfer Tavern’s favourite shot stoppers Tim Krul is the main target for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger this summer, according to the [Daily Star.](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/326043/Arsenal-weighing-up-audacious-bid-for-Newcastle-star-Tim-Krul/)

The Newcastle United goalkeeper continued to impress last season and Wenger’s clear need for a world class number one means he would be happy to stump up the cash to get the Dutch international.

Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar looks set to snub a switch to North London in favour of returning to Italy and Serie A with Napoli.

Cesar is just another disappointment of a frustrating summer for the Gunners so far but Wenger still has plenty of cash to spend in order to get Arsenal back in the title race after a number of years battling Tottenham for fourth place.

Krul is valued at £10 million by the Magpies but Arsenal are set to test the water with just £6 million for the 25-year-old who may want to push through a move away from the North East following a disappointing 2012/13 under Alan Pardew.
