# Arsenal: Sokratis posts photo of him back training on Instagram

**Some Arsenal supporters may be worried about this evening’s fixture against Southampton after the Gunners leaked five goals in their last two games.**

However, a [recent Instagram post](https://www.instagram.com/sokratispapa.official/) from defender Sokratis could please them greatly as he looks to be fit and raring to go for the trip to St Mary’s.

The Greek centre-back had not been involved in the squad since the return of the Premier League but [news this week from Arsenal](https://www.arsenal.com/news/team-news-leno-xhaka-sokratis-and-more) suggested that he could return for the match against the Saints, which seems to have since been validated by the 32-year-old. The defender [posted](https://www.instagram.com/sokratispapa.official/) an image of him in training, with the caption ‘Happy to be back 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻’

Given their defensive deficiencies of late, Arsenal could do with Sokraits back in their side, with his on-field commitment exemplified by match averages of 1.2 tackles and 3.3 clearances this season, per [WhoScored.](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/22210/Show/Sokratis)

His experience of [90 caps](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sokratis/nationalmannschaft/spieler/34322/verein_id/3378) for Greece, along with his time in the [Bundesliga](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sokratis/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/34322) as well as at Arsenal, could help to provide the Gunners’ defence with the type of leadership that seems to have been lacking of late.
