# Arsenal still keen on Southampton star as transfer replacement

[![Calum Chambers](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Calum-Chambers.jpg)](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Calum-Chambers.jpg)Southampton fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are sick of this summer’s transfer rumours already.

But it’s only going to get worse as according to the [Daily Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-eye-calum-chambers-transfer-3661519), Arsenal will make a move for Saints teenager Calum Chambers after scouting him twice for England Under-19s.

The 19-year-old has emerged as a leading candidate for the Gunners after Bacary Sagna opted to join Manchester City on a Bosman.

He signed a new four-year contract last summer but any fee touted will be nowhere near as large as that of Luke Shaw who is estimated at £27 million.

Arsenal are in line for a tidy windfall if Chelsea’s move for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas goes through with a £1.5 million sell-on payment arriving from the Catalan club.

And Wenger sees Chambers as the perfect competition for fellow England youngster Carl Jenkinson.

### **Arsenal fans. Calum Chambers looks to have a big future but do you need someone with a little more experience to replace Bacary Sagna? Let us know your thoughts below.**
