# Everton: Toffees eyeing Mykhaylo Mudryk in January

**[Everton](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/) are reportedly eyeing up a move in the January transfer window for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.**

### The Lowdown: Rising star

Mudryk is certainly a rising star of the game, with one goal and three assists in just four games in total for Shakhtar over all competitions so far this season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mykhaylo-mudryk/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/537860/plus/0?saison=2022&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)).

[Three of those](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mykhaylo-mudryk/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/537860/plus/0?saison=2022&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) goal contributions came in their opening 4-1 win away at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League group stages in midweek, and as per Italian football journalist and transfer expert [Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1567255053852975106), he is considered a ‘top, top talent’.

### The Latest: Everton interest

As per [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/shakhtar-dopo-il-gol-in-champions-mudryk-e-nel-mirino-di-due-clu-11865), the Goodison Park outfit are now eyeing up a potential move for Mudryk in January after watching his stunning performance against Leipzig.

However, they will face competition from fellow Premier League rivals Arsenal for his signature.

### The Verdict: Get it done

If the Merseyside club can come up with enough money to sign Mudryk in January, as he thought to be valued at [over €50m](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1567255053852975106) (£43.3m), then this is simply a deal that they need to get done.

Self-styled as ‘[the Ukrainian Modric](https://www.90min.com/posts/who-is-mykhaylo-mudryk-things-to-know-ukraine-winger)‘ in his homeland, the 21-year-old possesses all of the qualities of a tricky creative player. To that extent, he played two key passes and created one big chance in Shakhtar’s midweek Champions League win in Germany ([Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/rb-leipzig-shakhtar-donetsk/nqbskCo)).

[Everton news!](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/web-stories/everton-news-7/)

He has already played 30 games for Shakhtar and been capped five times by Ukraine, scoring three goals and supplying 12 assists ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mykhaylo-mudryk/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/537860/plus/0?saison=&verein=660&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)).

Nonetheless, fellow Ukrainian teammate Vitaliy Mykolenko is already at the Toffees, and so could help try to push a deal through.
