**The agent of [Arsenal](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/arsenal-fc-news/) defender [William Saliba](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/william-saliba/) is reportedly in contact with Paris Saint-Germain over a potential move to the Ligue 1 champions in 2023.**

### The Lowdown: Saliba’s time at Arsenal

The north London club [signed](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11670/11770436/arsenal-sign-william-saliba-from-saint-etienne-on-long-term-deal) Saliba on a long-term deal from Saint-Etienne in 2019 for a fee in the region of £27m.

After [three separate loan moves](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/william-saliba/transfers/spieler/495666) away from Arsenal, the 21-year-old is currently in his first full season with the Gunners, having started [all 14](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/william-saliba/leistungsdaten/spieler/495666) of their matches in the current [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) campaign.

Despite the Emirates Stadium faithful only now getting a real sense of the player and his capabilities, there are some rumblings going on behind the scenes which could lead to Saliba leaving Arsenal in the summer.

### The Latest: Saliba’s agent in contact with PSG

According to a recent report from French media outlet [Media Foot](https://mediafoot.net/le-psg-ne-lache-pas-william-saliba-info-media-foot/), PSG are in contact with Saliba’s representatives about the prospect of signing the defender in next summer’s transfer window.

The report adds that the centre-back feels that a potential move back to his homeland would improve his chances of playing regularly in France’s upcoming Euro 2024 campaign.

### The Verdict: A worry for Arsenal

In addition to scoring [two](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/william-saliba/leistungsdaten/spieler/495666) goals and providing [one](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/william-saliba/leistungsdaten/spieler/495666) assist in the league this season, the Frenchman has racked up one of the highest passing accuracy percentages at the north London club ([92.1%](https://fbref.com/en/squads/18bb7c10/Arsenal-Stats)).

From a defensive point of view, Saliba has made more recoveries ([120](https://fbref.com/en/squads/18bb7c10/Arsenal-Stats)) and more tackles in the defensive third of the pitch ([14](https://fbref.com/en/squads/18bb7c10/Arsenal-Stats)) than any other player in [Mikel Arteta](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/mikel-arteta/)‘s squad. In addition, only [Gabriel Magalhaes](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/gabriel-magalhaes/) ([53](https://fbref.com/en/squads/18bb7c10/Arsenal-Stats)) has made more clearances for Arsenal than the France international ([39](https://fbref.com/en/squads/18bb7c10/Arsenal-Stats)), who played just [27](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/341/Show/France-France) minutes in the recent World Cup.
