# Aston Villa: Villans agree Ismaila Sarr fee

**[Aston Villa](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/aston-villa-news/) have agreed on a fee with Watford for winger Ismaila Sarr, according to [Sky Sports](https://twitter.com/skysportsnews/status/1561075256428793859?s=21&t=naTc38Lhg3qWgWoaK_IltQ).**

### The Lowdown: Villa linked with centre-backs

It looks as if NSWE and Johan Lange may have a busy end to the summer transfer window after already making [five first-team signings](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aston-villa/transfers/verein/405) for Steven Gerrard.

A new centre-back appears to be on the agenda at Villa Park following a [serious injury](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjMlqf7rNf5AhXNTMAKHeSzBB0QFnoECA4QAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.birminghammail.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Ffootball-news%2Fdiego-carlos-breaks-silence-devastating-24796169&usg=AOvVaw2KPCNtWLBDt03nhTV3D8SU) to Diego Carlos last weekend.

The likes of [Jason Denayer](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/aston-villa-news/aston-villa-jason-denayer-transfer-news/), [Duje Caleta-Car](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/aston-villa-news/aston-villa-contact-duje-caleta-car-transfer-news/), [Trevoh Chalobah](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/aston-villa-news/aston-villa-steven-gerrard-trevoh-chalobah/) and [Jan Bednarek](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/aston-villa-news/aston-villa-villans-make-jan-bednarek-approach/) have all been linked with moves to the Midlands in recent days, but it appears as if Villa have also been working hard on a deal for a new forward.

### The Latest: Sarr transfer news

[Sky Sports](https://twitter.com/skysportsnews/status/1561075256428793859?s=21&t=naTc38Lhg3qWgWoaK_IltQ) shared a live TV transfer update regarding Villa on Saturday evening.

They said that NSWE have agreed on a deal with Watford for Sarr, revealing that ‘the fee is understood to be worth more than £25m plus add-ons’.

### The Verdict: Good move?

[Labelled](https://www.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ben-foster-watford-ismaila-sarr-6681008) a “freak” of a talent with “scary” ability by former team-mate Ben Foster, Sarr is [primarily](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ismaila-sarr/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/410225) a right winger but can play [anywhere](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ismaila-sarr/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/410225) across the front three.

Neither [Anwar El Ghazi](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anwar-el-ghazi/leistungsdaten/spieler/183720) nor [Bertrand Traore](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bertrand-traore/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/131996) have featured under Gerrard so far this season and appear to be surplus to requirements at Villa Park.

Therefore, a move for the versatile Sarr – who already has Premier League [experience](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ismaila-sarr/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/410225) with Watford – appears to be a smart one at first glance, and with a deal reportedly agreed, it now looks as if it could be just a matter of time until we see him in a Villa shirt.
