# Aston Villa: Fans discuss whether Keinan Davis is ready for the first team

**Many Aston Villa fans have responded on Twitter to a club tweet which was bigging up the performance of Keinan Davis on Wednesday night.**

The forward played 90 minutes for Villa away at Brighton in the EFL Cup third round and chipped in with an [assist](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1426727/Live/England-League-Cup-2019-2020-Brighton-Aston-Villa) as his side ran away 3-1 winners.

Aston Villa’s Twitter account highlighted the 21-year-old’s showing, saying in the tweet: ‘Impresses with every performance’.

WhoScored seemed to agree, giving Davis a [7.7](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1426727/Live/England-League-Cup-2019-2020-Brighton-Aston-Villa) score for his performance.

It was a pretty routine victory in the end for Villa, who rested a few players, in contrast to the home side. Graham Potter made a full 11 changes to the side, who could only muster [30% of possession](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49736853) throughout the game.

Jota, Conor Hourihane and Jack Grealish all scored for Villa to set up a fourth-round tie against Midlands rivals Wolves.

There were mixed responses from fans about Keinan Davis’ performance, with many saying that he should be given a chance in the first team, while others say he simply isn’t up to Premier League level.
