# Aston Villa: Fans go crazy over update on Morgan Sanson

**Many Aston Villa fans are buzzing as the transfer saga around Morgan Sanson seems to be coming to an end following the latest reports, which suggest a deal has finally been agreed.**

The [first bid](https://twitter.com/villareport/status/1352037452471533570?s=20) Villa made was immediately rejected as it was only €7m with €2m in bonuses and Marseille wanted closer to €18m.

It looks like both sides have now compromised though, as [@villareport](https://twitter.com/villareport/status/1352932381569789953?s=20) have relayed news emerging from [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre) that Villa have agreed a £14m fee, potentially rising to £15.5m (€15.7m rising to €17.3m). He is expected to arrive in Birmingham next week.

The 26 year-old has an abundance of experience for both club and country – this includes appearances in the Champions League. He can provide a threat going forward and be a big help defensively according to his statistics this season, as he has averaged 1.9 tackles and 1.1 key passes a game in Ligue 1 this campaign ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/115508/Show/Morgan-Sanson)).

With these type of stats it is easy to see why fans are excited by the box to box midfielder – one supporter simply said: ‘[Awesome signing](https://twitter.com/car1l/status/1352932754456010754?s=20).’

With their club currently eleventh in the Premier League with at least two, and in some cases three games in hand on teams above them ([SofaScore](https://www.sofascore.com/tournament/football/england/premier-league/17)), players who are currently playing at such a high level like Sanson could add the much-needed depth and quality to help the club finish the season in the European qualification places.
