# Aston Villa: Fans react to Anwar El Ghazi news

**Reliable reporter [Ashley Preece](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-transfer-news-hickey-22648874) has claimed that Aston Villa winger Anwar El Ghazi is unhappy at Bodymoor Heath due to his lack of game time under Steven Gerrard.**

And a number of Villa fans have been reacting to the update on social media.

El Ghazi was [linked](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-west-ham-set-sights-on-aston-villa-star-el-ghazi-as-surprise-moyes-plan-revealed/) with a move to West Ham last weekend, with Hammers boss David Moyes viewing the Dutchman as a versatile attacking option.

Villa would apparently [prefer](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-west-ham-set-sights-on-aston-villa-star-el-ghazi-as-surprise-moyes-plan-revealed/) a permanent sale but are also open to loan offers, with the 26-year-old featuring in just [33](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anwar-el-ghazi/leistungsdaten/spieler/183720) minutes of Premier League action under Gerrard.

The wide man is [yet](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anwar-el-ghazi/leistungsdaten/spieler/183720) to start a game under the new boss and has had to make do with substitute cameos against Brighton, Crystal Palace and Chelsea.

His contract expires in [18 months time](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anwar-el-ghazi/profil/spieler/183720), with [Preece](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-transfer-news-hickey-22648874) claiming El Ghazi is unhappy at his lack of game time when discussing possible January departures.
