# Aston Villa: Fans react to City’s Grealish update

**Several Aston Villa fans have been reacting to a transfer update regarding Manchester City and their interest in Jack Grealish.**

The boyhood Villa fan was [linked](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9375891/Manchester-City-favourites-land-100m-rated-Jack-Grealish-summer.html) with a move to Pep Guardiola’s side last month and was [reportedly](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9375891/Manchester-City-favourites-land-100m-rated-Jack-Grealish-summer.html) excited by a potential Etihad switch.

According to a fresh report from the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9419655/Manchester-Citys-200m-plunge-Premier-League-leaders-want-Erling-Haaland-Jack-Grealish.html), cited by [Birmingham Live](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-city-transfer-aston-villa-20291504), City are set to go after Grealish in an audacious double summer swoop, along with Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

The [update](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-city-transfer-aston-villa-20291504) claims a double deal could cost close to £200m, with Haaland seen as a perfect replacement for Sergio Aguero.

City’s interest in Grealish has thought to have progressed in recent weeks, according to the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9419655/Manchester-Citys-200m-plunge-Premier-League-leaders-want-Erling-Haaland-Jack-Grealish.html). They suggest that there is hope a deal can now be struck with Aston Villa, even though Villa are under no pressure to sell.

Grealish, who [recently returned to training](https://twitter.com/AVFCOfficial/status/1376541962497626114) following a leg injury, is under contract in the Midlands until [2025](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-grealish/profil/spieler/203460).
