# Aston Villa: Fans react to Helander price

**Plenty of Aston Villa fans have been giving their thoughts on social media in regards to the club’s reported interest in Rangers defender [Filip Helander](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/aston-villa-transfer-rumours/aston-villa-filip-helander-on-villans-transfer-radar/).**

Villa, along with Premier League rivals Leicester City, were [linked](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/filip-helander-attracting-rangers-transfer-23804759) with the centre-back over the weekend.

A fresh update from [ESPN](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/blog-transfer-talk/story/4348554/transfer-talk-buffon-could-exit-juventus-for-napoliporto), cited by [Birmingham Live](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-rangers-transfer-price-20291876) has now emerged, with specific finances involved.

Should either Villa or Leicester firm up their interest, they’d have to stump up no less than £6m for the [Sweden international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/filip-helander/profil/spieler/198067).

Helander’s Ibrox deal doesn’t expire until [2023](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/filip-helander/profil/spieler/198067). His current [Transfermarkt valuation stands at just £1.8m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/filip-helander/profil/spieler/198067), but Villa would have to pay over three times that figure to seal a deal for the Rangers man.

The 6 foot 3 defender has made [27](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/filip-helander/leistungsdaten/spieler/198067) appearances under Steven Gerrard this season, scoring on [three](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/filip-helander/leistungsdaten/spieler/198067) occasions.
