# Aston Villa: Fans react to Leon Bailey update

**Aston Villa are €5m off meeting Bayer Leverkusen’s valuation for Leon Bailey, according to [Bild](https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/fussball/stiefvater-bestaetigt-verhandlungen-bailey-wechsel-es-geht-nur-noch-um-die-abloe-77210442.bild.html).**

And, as to be expected, a number of Villa supporters have been sharing their thoughts to the update on social media.

[Bild](https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/fussball/stiefvater-bestaetigt-verhandlungen-bailey-wechsel-es-geht-nur-noch-um-die-abloe-77210442.bild.html) suggest that Villa’s first offer for the Jamaican was worth €30m, with Leverkusen holding out for €35m.

Leverkusen’s valuation converts to just shy of £29.8m, which, should a deal go through at that price, would make Bailey Villa’s [third-most expensive signing](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aston-villa/transferrekorde/verein/405) of all time behind Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Buendia.

Bailey is [reportedly](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9821547/Aston-Villa-25m-bid-Bayer-Leverkusen-winger-Leon-Bailey-REJECTED.html) open to a Premier League switch, with [Bild](https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/fussball/stiefvater-bestaetigt-verhandlungen-bailey-wechsel-es-geht-nur-noch-um-die-abloe-77210442.bild.html) name-checking Leicester City and Wolves with an interest in the 23-year-old, alongside Villa.

[The Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9809733/Aston-Villa-eyeing-30million-swoop-Bayer-Leverkusen-star-Leon-Bailey.html) were the first to link Bailey with a move to Villa Park last week, and it seems as if Villa have stepped up their interest.
