# Aston Villa: Fans react to Luiz, Targett and Cash update

**Plenty of Aston Villa supporters have been reacting to a further update regarding contract extensions to three first-team players.**

[The Telegraph’s John Percy](https://twitter.com/JPercyTelegraph/status/1377933970428600328) shared a story on Friday lunchtime claiming the club were set to offer Ezri Konsa and Tom Heaton new deals in the Midlands.

Konsa’s extension has since been [announced](https://twitter.com/AVFCOfficial/status/1378029592334712840) by the club, with the centre-back penning terms at Villa Park until [2026](https://twitter.com/AVFCOfficial/status/1378029592334712840).

However, in [Percy’s article](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/04/02/aston-villa-offer-ezri-konsa-tom-heaton-new-deals-clubs-summer/), he suggested that midfielder Douglas Luiz, left-back Matt Targett and right-back Matty Cash are also in line to be offered new improved contracts.

All three have been regulars in Dean Smith’s side this season. Both [Luiz](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/douglas-luiz/profil/spieler/447661) and [Targett](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/matt-targett/profil/spieler/250478) are under contract until 2023, whereas [Cash](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/matty-cash/profil/spieler/425334)’s deal doesn’t expire until 2025, but it seems as if the club want to reward the trio for their impressive displays during the current campaign.
