# Aston Villa: Fans react to Marvelous Nakamba gesture

**Many football fans across the world have been sharing their appreciation for Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba on social media.**

Nakamba, who made the move to Villa Park in 2019 from Club Brugge [in a deal worth £10.8m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marvelous-nakamba/transfers/spieler/324882), has [paid the school fees of 1,000 pupils](https://www.goal.com/en/news/aston-villa-star-nakamba-pays-school-fees-of-1000-pupils-in/2qemm4xiddvu1ure6cm41ulr5) in his native country of Zimbabwe.

The 27-year-old made the gesture [through his eponymous foundation](https://www.goal.com/en/news/aston-villa-star-nakamba-pays-school-fees-of-1000-pupils-in/2qemm4xiddvu1ure6cm41ulr5), which was launched in [2019](https://www.goal.com/en/news/aston-villa-star-nakamba-pays-school-fees-of-1000-pupils-in/2qemm4xiddvu1ure6cm41ulr5), with his [goal to reach 100,000 pupils’ fees paid by the end of the year](https://www.goal.com/en/news/aston-villa-star-nakamba-pays-school-fees-of-1000-pupils-in/2qemm4xiddvu1ure6cm41ulr5). Nakamba is also hoping to hit [one million in four years’ time](https://www.goal.com/en/news/aston-villa-star-nakamba-pays-school-fees-of-1000-pupils-in/2qemm4xiddvu1ure6cm41ulr5), and it’s safe to say that his charitable gesture has drawn a glowing response on social media.

The midfielder is on [£34,000 per week](https://salarysport.com/football/player/marvelous-nakamba/) at Villa Park and has made [13](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marvelous-nakamba/leistungsdaten/spieler/324882) appearances in all competitions during the current campaign.
